Since nobody is hopping in - how about “Action Figures” from GI Joe to Army Men to He-Man to Megos to Big Jim ... what did you have? What did you collect? Figures, accessories, vehicles, and structures are all fair game! What were your favorite adventures with your toys; how did you use them? Share it all!

I had a few but I gave most away. Over the holiday my mother found an old box of the remnants and there was a large purple figure whose name I couldn't remember for the life of me. I remember playing with it a fair amount, but still, no idea. Getting back and looking it up, it turned out to be Hypnos, the Ultimate Enemy who apparently was the nemesis of Pulsar, the Ultimate Man of Adventure. Both had transparent chests and I seem to have chosen the spinner wheel over the pulsating organs. More likely, I just thought an alien looked cooler than a walking med school cadaver.

Cheers!

Selenarch - Hypnos and Pulsar were extremely weird and very cool. I just posted a picture on our twitter @BackintheBronze if you want to take a look. I remember those characters so well. They seemed like something Steve Ditko would create if he was working on Action Figures.

I myself inherited a bunch of GI Joes - we had the astronaut, scuba diver, deep sea diver, etc all with their cool accessories. Again that was a gift from our cousin. Hours of fun.

I remember also finding great amusement with two plastic cowboys (the size and style of green army men) that we named Butch and Sundance. We had great fun throwing them off of every high place we could imagine like the cliff jump from the famous movie.

I grew up right in the middle of the Mego era. I had most of the DC and nearly all of the Marvel figures. I also got into their Planet of the Apes line, too, and some of my adventures included crossovers of both sets. Big fun.

Earlier, I had those Knight and Viking figures from Marx that were the 12" variety and they were also in some crossover adventures as well with the DC/POTA figures and the Big Jim line, too. I was into the Conan comics at the time and those muscled-up Big Jim figures were perfect for that and I incorporated the weaponry of the knights and vikings into those adventures. I would do that for hours. Don't know if kids today would do that sort of thing.

I was older, but I still collected the Big Jim P.A.C.K. team as well. I still remember those Kirby-drawn ads.

I had most of the Mego dolls (we called them "dolls" back in the 70s). But I never got the Thing, I could never find him at our local toy stores. I'd say my favorites (in terms of toy design) were Falcon and Green Goblin.

I got the Kenner Star Wars "Early Bird Special" for Christmas 1977 and continued to collect and play with the SW action figures until age 11.

I was old enough to have a few 12-inch GI Joe dolls and young enough to get into the smaller edition that debuted in 1982.

Before Star Wars, I'd say Kenner's Six Million Dollar Man line was my favorite.

I still have a bunch of Star Wars and G.I. Joe figures (that's the 1980s Joe figures, not the early ones). I remember Six Million Dollar Man, but never had one.

I had some Mego figures: Superman, Batman, Robin, Spider-Man, and Hulk. I also had the odd Battlestar Galactica figure ... I seem to recall Starbuck, an Ovion, and an Imperious Leader, which I still have somewhere. I never had any Buck Rogers figures, but my cousin had a bunch of them and they were pretty cool ... lots of articulation!

I had several of the 12" G.I. Joes, including (like Marti) the astronaut. He and his space capsule were by far my favorites . As a teen, sadly, I was fool enough to blow them all up with firecrackers . I still kick myself.

Missed out on Megos , but years later in college I was loving the Micronauts comic . Happened to find one of the figures lying on a sidewalk, and he sat on my desk for a long time afterwards . I think it was Biotron...

Howdy. My two brothers and I never had a single "doll" in the house, though my sister did, with one exception. When I was around 12, I bought my 5-year-old brother a rubber batman around 6" tall for his birthday. Once he opened it, I and my 10 year old brother proceeded to play with the thing for the next several months dong flips, stunts, etc. and my baby brother never could get his hands on it.

It's been a bit of a family joke over the years how it was pretty clear that I had purchased the thing for me, not my brother's birthday, lol.

Growing up in the 70's, I started off with a GI Joe. Later, I got their Six Million Man knock off, Mike Power, Atomic Man. That one was actually pretty cool, with see through robotic limbs. I also had a Big Jim. The major accessory I had for that was the Rescue Rig RV.

I had a lot of Megos. First, there was an Action Jackson, their version of GI Joe. Of their superhero line, I had Batman, Superman, the Joker, Captain Marvel, Spiderman and Captain America. Then there was Cornelius and a gorilla warrior from their Planet of the Apes line. Perhaps my favorite line in retrospect was their horror characters. Of that line, I had Frankenstein, the Mummy and the Werewolf. They had glow in the dark parts. Rounding things out, I had Captain Kirk from their Star Trek line.

Welcome Richard. I was never really exposed to Megos, so never had any but I had toy envy over my friend’s Rescue Rig RV! Slick!

When I was really young I was all about Megos. I always loved superheroes since I was really small. I probably had just about every mego superhero at one time or another. All I have left though is Spider-Man.

At the same time I also liked GI Joe and Big Jim. Had a few of those as well.

Later on I really got big into Star Wars action figures. I had all the major characters and dozens of the supporting players as well. I also had a lot of the ships. My favorite was the Millennium Falcon. But I also really liked Boba Fett's ship. It was just cool looking.

These days I'm actually an avid Marvel Legends, and DC Universe Classics collector. I sort of traded in collecting new comics for collecting action figures of classic characters. In just the last couple of weeks I've picked up classic comic Black Panther, Mysterio, The Prowler, Cobra, Klaw, Taskmaster, Mr. Fantastic and The Sub-Mariner, just to name a few.

As some of you may know, I use them to make my own comics and post them on my website - BillsComics.com.

Loved my Marvel Megos (the Thing, Spidey, Hulk, Thor, Mr. Fantastic, the Lizard)and DC (Batman, Robin, Penguin, and for some reason Tarzan?).

I was into Big Jim during the P.A.C.K. stage with Dr. Steel and Warpath.

And a little Micronauts and one Shogun Warrior. Later I did get into the 1982 GI Joe smaller 3.75 inch guys.

But nothing compared to the Kenner Star Wars. The right toy at the right time for my age.
