Yesterday Redartz mentioned Adele's "Skyfall" so here are two James Bond questions:

1) Which actor has been the best James Bond ?

2) Which is the best Bond theme-song ?

1) Sean Connery and Roger Moore are the two that you mainly think of as Bond and both are excellent but I'll choose Connery (curious fact: my father was only two days older than Roger Moore). I've never seen any of the Pierce Brosnan Bond films and only one of the Daniel Craig films (Casino Royale). I've never been that much of a Bond fan to be honest.

2) For me the best theme songs are Goldfinger (Shirley Bassey), You Only Live Twice (Nancy Sinatra), Live And Let Die (Wings), For Your Eyes Only (Sheena Easton), A View To A Kill (Duran Duran) and Goldeneye (Tina Turner). It's a tough choice but I'll pick Nancy Sinatra. I also love the song "Underneath The Mango Tree" from Dr. No :)

Well, Roger Moore is the Bond I grew up on, and Craig is pretty good but I think Connery was the "best" at it.

Live and Let Die.

Connery was "a man's man."

"View to a Kill!" Love the new wave sound...

Sean Connery was the first Bond I encountered, and he's pretty tough to beat......a man's man as CH47 said. I liked Roger Moore, too (and Timothy Dalton to an extent), but when I picture Bond, he looks like Sean Connery.

My favorite Bond tune is Live and Let Die.....I mean, it's Paul McCartney! I liked the theme music to the original Casino Royals, too, from Herb Alpert.

Someone's goyya mention On Her Majesty's Secret Service sooner or later, it may as well be me. I won't go so far as to say George Lazenby is the best Bond, although I did like him, but it did have my favourite music. The opening theme during the credits always stuck with me as very cool Bond music (I think it comes back during a ski chase scene).

As for the best Bond, I think I gotta give it to Sean.

I'll go with Connery. First Bond movie I watched was 'Live And Let Die', but I believe Connery will not be topped.

The "James Bond Theme" was used on the opening credits of 'Dr. No', so I'll call that the best Bond movie theme song.

Connery will always personify 'Bond' for the rest of eternity, there's no shaking that off. But I prefer Moore.

I always thought 'Live and Let Die' was the gutsiest Bond film to make for a few reasons. Not only was it's Moore's first, but you have to give the guy credit, this film delved into Blaxploitation, voodoo, several areas that aren't your traditional British Bond 'story setting'. So for his 'first time out', this was quite a risk and Moore carried himself quite well.

I thought Brosnan was quite good, I didn't watch Dalton as much, but I should. Not a Craig fan, but he did comment on a very good idea. He said that the Austin Powers franchise sort of ruined the lighter Bond mystique. I tend to agree to an extent.

I do wish Mike Myers would have stayed more high-brow on that series, he'd still be making them. Perhaps channeling more James Coburn 'Flint' subtle humor, without the self-indulgent tripe like mole-on-the-face jokes, crotch-kicking scenes or the hard-to-watch 'Fat Bastard' sight-gags. Those films just got worse and worse. He had a good thing going and ruined it.

All the Bonds have their good points, including Lazenby and Dalton. If I had to pick I'd probably go with Moore because he's the first Bond I ever saw.

Whenever I think of theme songs, Goldfinger is the first that comes to mind, though Live and Let Die is probably a better song.

1. Sean Connery. I don't really like him better than Moore, but I still think of him as the "real" Bond.

2. Casino Royale (2006), followed by OHMSS.

1. I've actually been really enjoying Daniel Craig as Bond. In fact, I think that his "Casino Royale" may just be my favorite ever Bond movie.

2. As for theme songs I'd have to go with "A View To A Kill" followed by "For Your Eyes Only". I like those best personally.

Best Bond? I've liked all of them; weak answer, I know. Have to agree with the consensus, though. Connery is Bond, and Bond is Connery. Brief aside; my wife and I are currently going through all the Bond films in order. We have the fine DVD collections released a few years ago; five films in each set. Great to revisit them all; oh, and we also have all the Daniel Craig films too. We have enough Bond material here to qualify us as an MI6 field office.

Favorite Bond song? As Colin noted, I mentioned "Skyfall" yesterday. That would be a close choice against "Goldfinger"and "Live and Let Die". Oh, and J.A. made a great motion for the "Bond Theme". I'd add John Barry's theme for "007", often used as incidental music during the films.

Favorite Bond film- "From Russia With Love". And to finish all Bond business, favorite Bond film soundtrack: "Thunderball". That score is spectacular...

Live and Let Die is my favorite Bond film for the many reasons listed above. The music was top notch also. And because it was an early favorite I slightly prefer Moore. But he did get way too campy as time went on. Moonraker and View to a Kill were almost parody - far beyond the slight tongue in cheek of early Moore.

I liked From Russia with Love and Thunderball and Goldfinger as well. Odd Job scared me as a kid with that decapitating hat he threw.

I did not like Dalton or Brosnan in the role as much. I do like Craig but I thought his last outing was horrible - gloomy and underwhelming.
