Sunday Special: Memorial Day Weekend!

Martinex1: We are in the midst of Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S.A., so we want to say thank you to all of those that have served and sacrificed for our country and our freedom.

This week we will have plenty of new topics in store for you, but enjoy the weekend and time with your families and friends.   Cheers!

Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend.., other than having my birthday fall on Sunday, just gave a silent remembrance to our Fallen yesterday at 3pm, and obviously prayers throughout the weekend.

As for relaxing, my wife and I once again dove into a self-imposed Mad Men marathon, for most of the weekend on Netflix. I got her to enjoy that Gene Cernan bio, "The Last Man On The Moon", done just a year before he passed this last Spring.

AND, yes, my pre-ordered Amazon gift of the new SGT Pepper 50th Anniversary boxset came... It certainly is a behemoth, if anyone's been following any of the press on it's features. Haven't opened it yet..., it's 3D cover just sits shimmering in the corner. LOL.

I heard it's quite fantastic.

Just to try to keep things straight:

Memorial Day is not to honor active duty military or living veterans. It is specifically to honor those who died while serving.

Armed Forces Day (third Saturday in May) is to honor active duty and reserve military who are currently serving.

Veteran's Day (November 11) honors veterans, i.e., people who served in the military and are now civilians.

May is Military Appreciation Month.

May 15 is Police Memorial Day, and the week (Sunday-Saturday) that includes May 15 is Police Appreciation Week.
