Martinex1: Here we go with a brand new $1 Challenge with a theme for the ages. For all you cat lovers out there, today we celebrate the comic feline. Pick your four favorites and explain why you chose those issues. Hopefully the cat won't have your tongue and you will share your thoughts with all of the BITBA fans.
And if an issue should be used to line your litter box, let us know that also!

Spectacular Spider-man #9: my first issue of PPSSM was #10, the second part of this story, so I'd like the first part. Also, I like White Tiger.
Claws of the Cat #2: I've always like Greer Nelson.
Maggie the Cat: just out of curiosity.
Cat-Claw: I've come across some of these here in Croatia, written in their original Serbian, and I've always been curious about the stuff that was translated into English.
I'll take a buck's worth of Julie Newmar!
Charlie Horse 47 is hard to disagree with, but for my picks I'd go with: Spectacular (I always liked White Tiger); Maggie the Cat (she was pretty cool in the Jon Sable comic); Hellcat (I like Patsy's character, generally); and maybe that old Harvey Black Cat ... I really want to see some of her "judo tricks"!

No catty remarks will be forthcoming from me today, only praise! Great lineup of four color felines, Martinex1! I never knew Marvel's Black Cat ever had her own title...
I'm going to go mostly with humor today: Josie and the Pussycats, Felix the Cat, Linus the Lionhearted (what a fun cartoon that was, mostly forgotten by many, but very clever). But lets add "Tiger Man" from Atlas for a dose of superheroics. Never read it, so it should be investigated!
Where's all the usual participants??? Cat got your tongue???😹🙀😺
Oh golly, why do Cat-themed heroes never resonate with me? Other than Black Panther, they always leave goin' "enh". Still, I'll take Cat-Man (and Kitten!)simply for their obscure Golden Age roots-- pretty sure they were a public domain property before this. And we'll try Atlas' Tiger-Man just to help that struggling imprint out a bit. And. . . Catwoman/Wildcat, 'cause that has a lot of potential (even though I don't know anything about its execution). Annnnnnd--- and. . . waitaminit. . . Wildcat? Doesn't he have anything of his own in here?? Okay, find me a solid Wildcat solo or team-up appearance, and I'll lay down my dollar!

Okey dokey here's my 4 feline picks in random order - Claws of the Cat (gotta love the orginal), Black Panther (c'mon it's T'Challa as if you need a reason), Spidey featuring the White Tiger (loved this kung fu character) and Thundercats 'cause I used to watch that cartoon!
- Mike 'feline frenzy' from Trinidad & Tobago.
Has anybody read Tiger-Man? I've always been curious about the title. The costume - in my eyes - is so strange but it intrigues me. I need to read more Atlas Seaboard. But I think this one may have Ditko art so I've steered away. Likewise I'd like to read the Harvey Black Cat. I am honestly surprised White Tiger has not been in the spotlight or headlined more as everybody seems to love him and the costume. And I don't think Wildcat ever had a solo comic - i may be wrong but I couldn't find it. I'm sure he was in a Brave and the Bold but not solo.
I do collect the Aristocats and its spinoffs (O'Malley and the Alley Cats + Aristokittens) as well as Gold Key and Charlton Top Cat.
There, I've said it :)
Never quite a fan of the cat persona, but I'd certainly take Charlie up on Julie Newmar...
I do like the Aristocats - I think that was an underrated Disney animated feature. It was one of my favorites; used to have some issues but no longer.
Edo mentioned Cat-Claw. That book has an interesting history and a very Marvel-like heroine. Her origin is that Carol Connor was scratched by an experimental cat and then irradiated; she is more mild-mannered in her civilian guise, etc. I thought some of the art and the costume had a "90s" flair despite being an early 80s book. I've only read a couple issues though. It was interesting in the interpretation and European perspective of Marvel. I don't know however if the Serbian script was drastically different than what I read; maybe a loose "translation" changed much of the concept.
HB mentions that he was never into cat-themed characters much. I tend to agree. The vast majority are unpowered (or low-powered) acrobatic fighters. Unless the writing is great, the exploits seem kind of redundant and low-key. I had hope for the Cat but that series was bad. And I liked Hellcat on the Defenders but I don't think she could support her own run without interesting supporting characters. Cat Man was really good in Secret Six - but again another team book. Black Panther stands out - but again maybe I like him better because he is an Avenger but he also does have a very unique and complex "civilian" life as King of Wakanda.
